Look What Brian Did!

Tue 28 Oct 2003 4:20 pm

So Steph, Brian and I drove down to Medford Oregon this last weekend. We were not only excited to be going to ‘almost California’, but also to be car shopping for Brian. See, Brian found a 300Z he liked so we all drove down to check it out, right? . . . Well, after 30 minutes of intensily studying every aspect of the cherry red dream, keys in hand, Brian and I hit pavement as he made the car his own. Unfortunately being only a two seater Steph had to ride separate in her car. :C Well, it totally rocked and now, still much to all our surprise ‘The Z’ is ALL his and he now stakes claim in something way less family sedan and way more . . . . HOT!

Life Stinks Sometimes . . .

Sun 19 Oct 2003 4:21 pm

Packing for a destination unknown, moving to a town unsure, living a life confused, feeding a desire unknowinly, praying for a way insistently, seeking change uncontrollably, pushing for happiness unstopably, learning life’s heartaches unwillingly. Praying for joy, praying for trust, praying for peace, praying for guideance, praying for a life already written, for a path aleady chosen, and a future already seen. Confused? Yes, everyday. Scared? Sometimes too often. Unwilling for change? Never.

The Lord is my shepard, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23

My Inner Child is 16 Years Old Today

Thu 16 Oct 2003 4:23 pm

Well, Happy Belated Thanksgiving to Canada. I have been in Victoria for the last week celebrating Canada’s day of Thanks with friends. It has been a nice week, but I do miss my little boy, Ferris. It will be nice to be coming home. My four friend’s and I all got ‘REALLY’ bored Saturday night and started having a physical challenge. With events such as ‘The Pushup Challenge’, ‘The Brain Quiz’, ‘Battle of the Sexes’, and ‘Who can run up and down the stairs the most before collapsing’. So it was a pretty wild night, I will say, all of our muscles sore for days. In our bordeom I took several quizzes learning that my inner child turned 16 years of age today. YEAH INNER CHILD! I’m not as immature as I thought. So for all you out there who are killer bored today and want to take a dorky quiz to see if you are dysfunctional or have little boring boobs check out Quizilla

Good-bye MAX

Wed 8 Oct 2003 4:24 pm

Brian sold his Maxima the other day (totally sucks too). I almost cried reading his news entry today about Max. Well for all those Max fans, we will miss you and wish you the best at your new home.

U P D A T E:
Okay, that completely sucked. Leaving home in the Maxima for the last time. Parking it at work for the last time. Someone noticing my plates were changed and asking about it, so of course i had to tell them, which led to a whole discussion of why i had to sell it, prompting stories i didn’t need to hear about everyone else’s cars they’d wished they’d kept and what good deals they’d found in the past, etc. Thanks so much, gang, for the pity and the jabs. Then unlocking it for the last time, driving to bellevue and parking for the last time. A perfect parallel parking job, too, 2″ from the curb on the first try, no hits, in free street parking in the middle of downtown bellevue; good parking karma on an otherwise karma-free day. Locking up for the last time, walking away for the last time – looking back, of course, at how great it looks parked there, shiny and black, sleek and powerful, curvy and… not mine. Signing the papers, blah blah, handling huge wads of cash, feeling cold and detached like how bankers must feel when they forclose on their friends or put a family on the street with a flick of the pen. Walking the buyer to where his Maxima is parked. Emptily demonstrating the valet key, the trunk release, the jack tools, like a disheartened car salesman who’s earning someone else’s commission. Sitting on the curb while he drives it away. Shiny, curvy, sexy, sweet, rolling past me, mirrored in the glass of the buildings and the welling in my eyes. Slumping there on the curb, feeling the concrete drain the warmth away. Watching the taillights fade into traffic, sliding away into anonymity and eternity. Yeah, that really sucked.

Brazilian Designer Márcia Ganem

Tue 7 Oct 2003 4:25 pm

Recently at the Rio Fashion Week, Márcia Ganem, from Salvador, Bahia showcased, once again, her interpretation of the rich popular culture of Bahia through her designs. Márcia is very well know in the Brazilian Fashion World because of her unique ideas and willingness to stand apart from popular trends. She is know for her combining of synthetic materials with organic materials; using materials such as wood, recycled tires, stones, netting and beads to create a look that is very much influenced by the area natives and their culture’s Umbanda (voodoo) rituals.

Her inspiration comes from the characters and ornaments for the voodoo gods and their musical percussion instrument the xequeré (which is covered with many small beads, which you see evidence of in her designs)

“OOOO, Heaven Is A Place On Earth!”

Wed 1 Oct 2003 4:28 pm

WOW! October already. Time flies, and fast! I just arrived back in Seattle yesterday, I went home to see Mom, Dad, and the new house. It is absolutely gorgeous. If there is one thing that this house has that the other one didn’t is color. Instead of all one color wood, light carpeted floors and pale everything there is color, color, and more color! We took some pictures, but the camera wasn’t the best so I will ask Mom and Dad to do another scan through the house with a better camera. In the meantime just imagine quantities of various tiles from ‘desert slate’ to ‘african slate’, a bricked laid mauve and forest back-splash, hand crafted hard wood floors with indricate edging in multiple wood hues, and a ‘freakin awesome’ jacuzzi that comfortably seats two!!! Sounds nice, but don’t forget the amazing view of the Jocko Valley and at the right angel the majestic Mission Moutains. It is the perfect peaceful paradise. I am glad to see Mom and Dad found their heaven on earth.
