Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Spring 2009

Seems everyday this week I catch myself oogling over Jean Paul’s Spring 2009 Couture line, drooling, and literally being completely unable to choose one favorite. It must be Spring Fever, because this is Love. I’m a total sucker for black and white; never out of trend, always classic, always polished, you can never go wrong.

Jean Paul Gualtier, the man who brought Madonna’s gold cone-bra out to play for her ‘Blonde Ambition Tour’, and again made an impression in her ‘Confessions Tour’ wardrobe, as well as working with Kylie Minogue for her ‘KYLIEX2008′ Tour, has made his mark on architectural, lingerie inspired design. His style and taste in both runway production and couture design has given him great criticism and praise, yet as I look at his Klaus Nomi inspired Spring 2009 line not one word of criticism finds itself slipping from my lips. I look over the sharp edges, arched lines, elongated stripes, asymmetry, and contrast in color and am both transfixed and inspired by what I see. Reviewing his work this season is like seeing an M C Escher print or a Jackson Pollock and feeling quite positive there is more to metaphorically interpret in each line.

If it can be said that clothing doesn’t hold such depth in artistic expression, well then it can be hugely argued as you see the images from Jean Paul’s line and realize there is so much to be seen, in each effort made, in every design.

Here Kitty Kitty

Ever wondered how to get your cat to come when it’s called? . . . hmmm me too. Although . . . despite the typical feline tendency to disobey every command by Master and choose it’s own course of action (i.e. sleeping) my cat, Fat Tabby, provides no need for remote control options, as he is one of the most non-cat cats I know. In other words . . . he knows his name, and about 51% of the time, the word ‘No’.

Stop scratching, get off the bed, get on the bed, here kitty kitty . . .

Fat Tabby, that clever sphinx.

I have seen so many things in the last couple of days that I felt worth sharing, and in my work burn-out have found myself lacking the brain power to function at even a kindergarten blogging level. Several long weeks of hard days, as I feel my eyes cross delving deep into lines and lines of html code. Of course now I find myself, perhaps not as deep as I am during my 9-5, but still peering over the dag web. Apparently I love that which I also find makes me blind.

As I by-pass a desire to speak on Mandy Moore’s new engagement, the Celebrity Year Book Photos my eyes recently spied upon, the Mango Fashion Awards (but stayed tuned here cuz I am still determined to bust that one out) . . . I soon hereafter gaze The Cat Control and I stop. Think of how much simpler life could be, and the time that would no longer be wasted fussing with a fussy cat! I feast my eyes on the ‘Cat Nap’ pause button of life, and wonder if God sits upstairs jamming on my ‘Pause’ button, or perhaps my ‘Stop Stressing’ button, ‘Don’t Over-Analyze’, ‘Stop Dating Creeps’ . . . When it comes down to it, my remote could ideally be made up of 5 buttons: Stop, Play, Act, Think, and Relax. And, double fun 5 buttons fits perfectly on my star shaped remote I imagine The Big Man punching on.

And in turn I could narrow that Cat Control down to 2 buttons. Ignore and Blah
